About the Agricultural Commodities Report

The Agricultural Commodities Report is your go-to source for understanding how Australia’s agricultural sector is tracking—both here and globally. Put together by ABARES, it offers forecasts on the value, volume, and prices of our agricultural production and exports.

Each edition looks at what’s happening around the world—like shifts in commodity prices, supply and demand—and breaks down what that means for Australian producers. It also highlights key risks that could impact the outlook, so members can stay informed and prepared.

There are two types of forecasts:

• Medium-term outlook: Published every March, this gives a five-year view of where things are headed.
• Short-term outlooks: Released in June, September, and December. These focus on the near future, with June covering the next financial year, and September/December looking at the current one.
